Kalinga Bharati Radio 90.0 FM is a community radio station conceived by the esteemed founder of KIIT and KISS, Prof Achyuta Samanta. Building upon the success of his renowned institutions, healthcare initiatives, social campaigns, and news channels, Prof Samanta envisioned a platform that would bind them all together through the power of radio.
Launched on 9th December 2022, Kalinga Bharati Radio 90.0 FM caters to the communities around KIIT Deemed to be University, specifically in Bhubaneswar and nearby areas. Our radio station is the voice of the people, focusing on common development issues, promoting community bond, and aligning with national and regional development goals. Community participation in content development and delivery is our key driving force, ensuring that grassroots voices are heard.
Why named so?
Kalinga Bharati Radio 90.0 FM derives its name from the rich heritage and culture of the region. “Kalinga” symbolizes the historical Kalinga Empire, which stood for resilience, knowledge, and unity. All our institutions like KIIT, KISS, KIMS also begin with Kalinga. “Bharati” represents the essence of India, emphasizing the diverse and inclusive nature of our nation. By combining these two powerful words, our radio station aims to honor the past while embracing the present and future.

After witnessing the impact of our previous endeavors in Education, Social Service, Health and Mass Media, I felt the need to create a platform that would bring together the power of radio and the aspirations of the community.
